Services
PUPPY TRAINING:
crate training, potty training, intro to a leash and obedience training, recall, enrichment games and tricks
ADULT DOG OBEDIENCE TRAINING:
loose leash walking, basic commands, house space management, preparation for the Canine Good Neighbour (CGN) test
BEHAVIORAL MODIFICATION:
jumping up on people, biting, aggression, excessive barking, fearfulness, resource guarding, separation anxiety
Rates
One In-home session - $100*
This includes:
• preliminary questionnaire
• 1-hour in-home training/consultation **
• customized written training plan
• additional follow up via email
* Discounts are available for ODSP/OW/low-income dog owners
** First session is 1.5 hour
Group and semi-private obedience lessons are available upon request
6 Themed Classes to graduate:
1) Attention gaining, markers, motivators. "Sit" command
2) Luring, leash intro, training equipment, confidence building
3) Space management, potty training, crate games. "Down" command, "Yes"/"No" balance
4)"Come " command (recall), target, trust exercises
5) "Place" command, 3D, impulse control
6) Training scenario concept, redirection socialising.
About The Trainer
Olga Vakruchev has over 30 years of experience in training and handling dogs and a variety of other animals. She has worked at breeding, working, and boarding kennels, shelters, dog training centers, farms, and zoos. She has not only leash-trained dogs but also their relatives, wolves and foxes. Such diverse experiences have led Olga to develop a distinct understanding of how both environment and a daily care routine have a significant influence on animal behavior. Her training approach is based on making the owner and their dog a team. She incorporates techniques from dog sports training into her pet training methods. When not training or consulting, Olga is attending workshops and seminars, rehoming German Shepherds, and finding the best coffee shops.
